A ridge of high pressure throughout the Midwest extends south into Texas and will be the primary influence on our local weather for the next couple of days.

Afternoon highs are expected to reach 100 degrees in Austin Thursday through Saturday, but then we are expecting a welcome change in the weather pattern.

The high pressure dome will shift westward, allowing an area of low pressure developing over Louisiana to track west toward Central Texas.
