Report recommends Alberta add urban ridings, cut three rural seats

EDMONTON — A report is recommending that Alberta’s next provincial election should be fought on a new political map that includes more urban ridings and less rural ones. The report by the Electoral Boundaries Commission will now go to the Alberta legislature for a vote. The commission recommends creating a total of three new constituencies in Calgary, Edmonton and the Airdrie-Cochrane area. Raid following fire turns up guns and drugs

London police have seized guns and drugs following a fire on Limberlost Road. Emergency crews were called to a fire in the basement of a  residence about 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The occupant of the home was outside of the residence when emergency services arrived. He sustained minor injuries which did not require medical attention, police said. Police search for suspects after home invasion in Bowness

Calgary police are looking for a group of suspects who allegedly forced their way into a home in Bowness early Tuesday morning. Officers say six people broke into a home in the 7700 block of 41 Avenue N.W. at about 7:15 a.m. About three to four adults were inside when the incident took place and police say they knew their attackers.
