Laura Babcock’s friend to continue testimony at murder trial  

TORONTO – A friend of a young Toronto woman who disappeared five years ago is expected to face cross-examination at the first-degree murder trial of two Ontario men today. The Crown alleges Dellen Millard, 32, of Toronto and Mark Smich, 30, of Oakville, Ont., killed Laura Babcock, 23, and burned her body in a large incinerator. Former Manitoba TV broadcaster charged in three Regina bank robberies  

A former TV broadcaster and college instructor from Winnipeg has been charged in connection with three bank robberies in Regina. Stephen Vogelsang, 53, is facing three counts each of robbery and breach of recognizance. The date of his first court appearance in Regina was not immediately available. Between July 8 and Oct. 18, three banks were robbed in Regina. In each incident, a man told employees he had a weapon and demanded money. Fisher-Price recalls 65,000 baby seats due to fire hazard  

WASHINGTON — Fisher-Price is voluntarily recalling about 65,000 motorized infant seats because of risk of a fire hazard. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says it has received three dozen reports of Soothing Motions Seats overheating and one report of a fire contained in the motor housing. The government agency says no injuries have been reported. The CPSC says the seats were sold by Amazon, Walmart, Target and other retailers from November 2015 to this month.
