Pedestrian hit by vehicle in Kitchener  

A woman was taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle in southwest Kitchener. It happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday, as the 22-year-old woman was walking on Max Becker Drive near Isabella Street. Fire officials say the woman’s injuries are not considered life-threatening. Further details were not available. More Beds for Windsor Regional Hospital  

Windsor Regional Hospital will benefit from the provincial government announcement of additional beds for hospitals and homecare across Ontario. Health Minister Dr. Eric Hoskins announced Monday the government is committing $140-million to pay for more than 2,000 additional hospital bed spaces to accommodate an overflow of patients for the upcoming flu season. $1.5-million of that announcement will go to Windsor Regional Hospital. Environmental appeal delaying ring road construction hearing begins  

An appeal that halted crews building the ring road in southwest Calgary because of concerns of the project’s impact on a number of wetlands is scheduled to begin on Monday. Elderly woman suffers serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle  

An elderly woman is in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Goderich Saturday afternoon. Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Balvina Drive East and Bayfield Road around 12 p.m. Police say the 87-year-old woman was walking in the crosswalk on Bayfield Road when a Dodge Ram pickup struck her.
