IRMA TEARING THROUGH FLORIDA, WEATHER CONDITIONS IMPROVE SLOWLY IN SOUTH FLORIDA
Meteorologist Joe Cioffi updates Hurricane Irma. Irma is ravaging Central Florida as the center continues to move northward. Winds gusted to 142 mph in Naples and 130 mph in Marco Islands when the hurricane came ashore this afternoon. Irma will move slowly northward and slowly weaken but will still maintain tropical storm strength on Monday as it moves through Georgia.
