After Florence: When will stores reopen?

After Florence: When will stores reopen?

While hundreds of grocery stores, drug stores and other retailers in the Carolinas remained closed Saturday because of Tropcial Storm Florence, many are expected to reopen Sunday.

“You have our promise, that for those stores that are closed, we will re-open them to serve you just as soon as it is safe,” Food Lion posted on its website.

Some, including Harris Teeter stores, will have shorter hours.

“Inclement weather and mandatory evacuations related to Hurricane Florence have caused Harris Teeter to close or modify the hours of operation for certain locations,” the company said in a statement on the website.

One of the easiest ways to find out if larger grocery chains and stores have reopened is to check online. Retailers are posting regular updates to when stores are opening and modified hours.

Walmart also advises shoppers to check local stores’ Facebook pages for hours.
